What do we know about microplastics in our ecosystem and how does it affect life?

By Genevieve D'Avignon (Invasive Species Lab, Redpath Museum)

Find out how MPs are affecting our world. They exist in mussels from the St. Lawrence, in our soaps and cleansers,  and in our fleece jackets. This hands-on workshop will let you work with the ecologist to filter out fibres and extract MPs from water and soap and then find out what the contamination levels mean.

Tea and snacks will be provided by the Redpath Museum Society. Bilingual / bilingue. Fee/Entrée : $7 (+ taxes). Payable at the entrance.

Suitable for ages 8 and up. Check here for a short blog about microplastics in Canada.

Everyone welcome / Bienvenue à tous. Reserve in advance: office.museum [at] mcgill.ca
