Jean Saint-Vil appointed as Special Advisor to the Vice-Principal, Research and Innovation

Martha Crago, Vice-Principal, Research and Innovation (VP-RI), is pleased to announce the appointment of Jean Saint-Vil to the role of Special Advisor, Strategic Projects, to the VP-RI.

Mr. Saint-Vil joins McGill from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) where he has served in several positions with increasing responsibility for 27 years, most recently as Associate Vice-President in charge of the Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE) Secretariat in Ottawa. His appointment at McGill commences on March 11, 2019.

As Special Advisor, Strategic Projects, Mr. Saint-Vil will help McGill achieve its ambitious institutional goals of unleashing its full research potential and enhancing its community collaborations. His primary responsibilities will include strengthening current interactions with peer research universities, institutes, and centres as well as with various governments’ research agencies. He will work closely with McGill researchers to develop a deep understanding of expertise at the University, in order to match priorities, researchers, and funding programs to the needs and interests of external parties.
Mr. Saint-Vil brings wide-ranging experience to McGill, including initiating and managing partnerships with academic, private and public partners, as well as strengthening strategic international partnerships benefitting Canada. Research and Innovation would like to congratulate Mr. Saint-Vil on his appointment and welcome him to the team.
