Award Management and Reporting

The information in the following pages will guide you through the steps that follow a grant award or the signing of an agreement or contract.

Be sure to submit all required documents to the OSR completed and on time to avoid any delays and be mindful of the administrative aspects of any international travel you may be planning as part of your project.

General information

The OSR reviews and negotiates agreements and contracts with funding sources on behalf of McGill University for approved proposals. Depending on the size and scope of the project, the negotiation process may cover legal, insurance and financial review, ethics compliance, establishment of a bilateral/consortium agreement, and intellectual property rights protection.

Contracts and agreements that have been reviewed by the OSR are signed by McGill's Authorized University Representative, not the Principal Investigator. The OSR must review the project budget in its final form before an award can be accepted.

All project agreements must be acknowledged by the Principal Investigator. It is the Principal Investigator’s responsibility to ensure that all project participants are informed of their obligations under established terms and conditions.
