ComSciConCAN 2019 Communicating Science Workshop

Published: 1 April 2019

ComSciConCAN is Canada’s first national science communication workshop for current or recently-graduated graduate students. This unique professional development program aims to help the next generation of leaders in STEM fields develop the skills needed to communicate their research and ideas to their peers, experts in other fields, policy makers, and the general public.

ComSciCon will launch its first event in Canada on July 18-20th, 2019 at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario. The conference is completely free of charge for selected attendees (travel, lodging, and food will be provided).

At ComSciConCAN, ample time will be allocated for networking with science communication experts and developing science outreach collaborations with fellow graduate students. All workshop participants will produce an original piece of science writing and receive feedback from workshop attendees and experts including, but not limited to, journalists, authors, public policy advocates, educators, etc.

Applications must be received by April 8, 2019. For full application details, please visit the ComSciConCAN website.
