Dr. and Mrs. Milton Leong Fellowships in Science

Terms:
Established in 1994 through a donation of Dr. Milton H.K. Leong, B.Sc. 1966, M.D.,C.M. 1970, and Susanna S. C. Leong (Liang), B.Sc. 1969, M.Sc. 1973.
Eligibility:
- Awarded to outstanding graduate students in Faculty of Science. Preference will be given to Ph.D. students as this is a two-year award.
- Preference is given to students from China
- Not restricted to new students
Nominations should be accompanied by:
- the applicant’s current C.V.
- all official transcripts from university level studies (graduate and undergraduate), with McGill GPA conversion if applicable
- a one-page summary of the applicant’s current and/or proposed research
- a supporting letter from the supervisor or Graduate Program Director, describing the applicant’s academic and research performance, and highlighting exceptional achievements
Value:
- $25,000
- Renewable once
Please note that before submitting your department’s nomination for the Dr. & Mrs. Milton Leong Fellowships in Science, all applications must be first ranked at the departmental level. Depending on your department’s internal practice, this could be either by the Graduate Program Director or the Department’s Graduate Award Committee.
Once the internal review process has been completed, each department should send the following to Gradstudies.science [at] mcgill.ca by no later than 1 March 2024:
- A ranked list of all applicants received at the department level
- The nomination package for your top candidate. Exceptionally you can send your top two applicants; in that case please rank them in order of preference
