A question period is scheduled on the Senate agenda for each meeting. Any senator may submit a written question or motion before a Senate meeting (see deadlines and templates below) for review by the Steering Committee. The Steering Committee has the delegated authority of Senate to make a determination on the admissibility of questions and motions.

The deadline for submitting questions and motions for consideration by the Senate Steering Committee is 5:00 p.m. on:
- Thursday, August 29, 2024, for consideration on September 4, 2024.
- Thursday, September 26, 2024, for consideration on October 1, 2024.
- Thursday, October 24, 2024, for consideration on October 29, 2024.
- Thursday, November 14, 2024, for consideration on November 19, 2024.
- Thursday, January 2, 2025, for consideration on January 7, 2025.
- Thursday, January 30, 2025, for consideration on February 4, 2025.
- Thursday, March 6, 2025, for consideration on March 11, 2025.
- Thursday, March 27, 2025, for consideration on April 1, 2025.
- Thursday, April 24, 2025, for consideration on April 29, 2025.
Questions or motions submitted after the deadline will be considered by the Senate Steering Committee at a subsequent meeting.
