Request Extension to Confirmation Deadline - Undergraduate Candidates

The deadline to request an extension to the confirmation deadline is May 1, 2024 for eligible programs.

Given the competitiveness of McGill programs, our expectation is that newly admitted students accept their offer of admission by the deadline provided in their admission letter. If you did not accept your offer of admission by the deadline stated in your offer letter, you can continue to accept your offer of admission on Minerva so long as it has not been withdrawn. Once passed that deadline, your offer may be withdrawn without prior notice. Remember each application to a McGill program receives a separate decision, i.e. accepting one offer will not affect your other application(s).

Should you have extenuating circumstances preventing you from accepting your offer by the deadline, you may use this form to request an extension.

 

Note:

  • Requests must be received prior to your offer deadline
  • The deadline will be extended to May 14th - extensions will not be granted past this date
  • Offers for some programs cannot be accommodated, please check the list below
  • Extensions will not be granted if the reason you are making this request is because you are awaiting a decision on another McGill program
  • Your official letter of acceptance to McGill will not be updated with the revised offer acceptance deadline. That revised deadline will only be confirmed to you via email once your request has been approved

 

Programs not eligible for an extension: 

  • Bioengineering
  • Bio-Physical-Computational Sciences
  • Neuroscience
  • Social Work
  • Software Engineering.

 

Steps to follow:

  1. Complete all fields in the form below;
  2. After you click “submit”, you will see a confirmation page that says your request was successfully submitted.
  3. When your request is processed you will receive an email with the decision and, if applicable, your new deadline to accept your offer.
