Proof of English proficiency
Proof of English proficiency (PREP) is a crucial part of the application process for many applicants to McGill. It’s important that you determine whether or not you need to submit proof of English ahead of time in order to meet our document submission deadlines as it may or may not be added to your initial checklist in Minerva automatically.
To find out what the list of accepted tests or our PREP exemptions are, visit our PREP page within the Applying website.
If you’ve already written the TOEFL or the IELTS, you have the opportunity to declare your results in the application to McGill. However, you still must have your electronic results sent to us directly from the Examination Board.
