Mia Mclean is a PhD student within the School of Psychology at The University of Queensland, Australia. Her supervisory team includes Dr Vanessa Cobham and Dr Gabrielle Simcock. Mia completed her Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) with Honours I, with her research focused on theories of speech production. Mia previously worked on the QF2011 study, having been awarded a summer research scholarship in 2013. Her interests lie in understanding prognostic factors of mental illness (in particular anxiety disorders) in order to inform early prevention and intervention. Mia’s PhD looks to understand the effects of PNMS on childhood anxiety symptoms within the 4year QF2011 cohort. She aspires to work as a clinical psychologist, researcher and university lecturer, all while growing and maintaining her own herb and vegetable gardens.
