Election Day

Please be informed that all classes, laboratories and examinations in all Faculties – as well as in the School of Continuing Studies – will be cancelled on Monday, October 1, 2018, for Quebec’s General Election.

This action has been taken in accordance with Section 306 of Quebec’s Election Act, which states in part:

“… Every educational institution shall, on polling day, grant leave to those pupils and students who are electors.”

It is important to also note that, as per the Guidelines Regarding the Setting of the University Calendar of Academic Dates, “in the event that the schedule for a particular pattern does not permit 39 contact hours or that courses must be cancelled (on an election Monday, for example), Faculties shall have the discretion to determine how the missing hour(s) shall be made up.”

University administrative offices will remain open as usual on Monday, October 1, 2018.
