From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

A Voice for the Global South

In the Faculty of Arts, the Institute for the Study of International Development (ISID) strives to create and communicate knowledge that contributes to understanding and solving real-world development challenges. ISID’s Speaker Series has, for a few years, reserved slots for Global South speakers, and since the pandemic, all speakers have been from the Global South. This was an explicit choice in order to expand our communities’ horizons and interact actively with all the research and practice taking place in Global South.

Continuing Studies

Attracting Talents from Abroad

Starting with only two international visiting students in 2017, the School of Continuing Studies’ (SCS) Study and language acquisition programs now attract more than 200 students annually. By 2021 SCS has joined with more than 50 university partners world-wide, to bring students from all over the world to McGill University for experiential learning, services and language acquisition, at the undergraduate, graduate and professional levels.
