How to Change the World Bootcamp

Students from the Faculty of Science participate in the How to Change the World Bootcamp, a unique experiential learning and professional development opportunity. In collaboration with other students, educators and experts, the participants engage with local leaders and stakeholders to co-develop innovative ideas that can have real impact on the sustainability challenges their community is facing.

As early as 2016-2017, new experiential opportunities were introduced to enhance the McGill graduate experience. The Graduate Mobility Awards encourage graduate students to study and conduct research abroad as part of their McGill degree program.

International Alliance in Education

The Faculty of Education has joined an alliance of four world-class Education Faculties across the globe: Oxford University (England), Stanford University (USA), Monash University (Australia) and the University of Hong Kong (China). This international Education alliance will facilitate the world leaders in Education set a global agenda for educational advancements, provide an international networking forum, and establish professional opportunities for researchers.

Globalizing Entrepreneurship

In 2021, the Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship launched its first McGill International Startup Tour. Showcasing Dobson's most promising retail startups and more, the goal of the McGill International Startup Tour is to promote entrepreneurial innovation stemming from all Faculties, while creating opportunities with regard to fund raising and new business partnerships on an international scale.

Healthier nutrition and sustainability in Ghana

Through a collective effort, the Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (FAES) works with partners, including the University of Ghana – Nutrition Research and Training Centre, to improve the livelihoods and health of young people in Ghana through training and innovation in nutrition and sustainable agri-food (Climate-Sensitive Agriculture, Nutrition-Sensitive Agriculture and Food
Processing).

A Voice for the Global South

In the Faculty of Arts, the Institute for the Study of International Development (ISID) strives to create and communicate knowledge that contributes to understanding and solving real-world development challenges. ISID’s Speaker Series has, for a few years, reserved slots for Global South speakers, and since the pandemic, all speakers have been from the Global South. This was an explicit choice in order to expand our communities’ horizons and interact actively with all the research and practice taking place in Global South.

Continuing Studies

Attracting Talents from Abroad

Starting with only two international visiting students in 2017, the School of Continuing Studies’ (SCS) Study and language acquisition programs now attract more than 200 students annually. By 2021 SCS has joined with more than 50 university partners world-wide, to bring students from all over the world to McGill University for experiential learning, services and language acquisition, at the undergraduate, graduate and professional levels.

A pathway to Dental Medicine in Quebec

The Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences offers the DMD Advanced Standing for Foreign Trained Dentists Pathway is intended for internationally trained dentists that would like to complete their Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and become accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC).
