RETScreen, Natural Resources Canada's clean energy management software, helps businesses and governments alike to make cleaner energy decisions.

Used by over 442,000 people all over the world, taught in over 600 universities and colleges, available in 36 languages and developed in collaboration with NASA, the United Nations and the World Bank, RETScreen has already saved its users well over $8 billion and is making its mark in the fight against climate change.

On August 28, 2015, Gregory Leng filled us in on how the software came to be, how it has achieved its incredible impact and what new innovations the future has in store.

About the speaker

Gregory LengGregory J. Leng is the creator of the RETScreen Clean Energy Management Software and Director of RETScreen International at Natural Resources Canada’s CanmetENERGY centre in Varennes, Quebec. He specialises in the clean energy market, technology and finance interface and has been working in the renewable energy and energy efficiency fields for the past 28 years. Prior to joining NRCan, Greg was based in Hyderabad, India as the India Country Manager for the International Fund for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency. Greg obtained a Master of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in Energy Engineering (Solar Energy Engineering option) and a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Marketing and International Business options) from McGill University.
