This elective is structured to acquaint students with research on interactions between parasitic protozoa and helminths and their hosts. The areas of research cover immunology, molecular biology, neurobiology, genetics, biochemistry, pharmacology, drug resistance, nutrition-infection interactions and population biology. In addition, on-going research projects are conducted on multi-drug resistance in tumour cells and molecular biology of papillomavirus.
The number of students that can be accommodated at any one time is four (4).
