Dr. Kent MacKenzie

Dr. Kent MacKenzie completed his General Surgery Residency at McGill University and his Vascular Surgery Fellowship at the University of Chicago during which time he spent 6-months as an Endovascular Surgery and Interventional Radiology Fellow. His current clinical practice incorporates open and endovascular treatment for aneurysms of the abdominal and thoracic aorta, acute thoracic aortic emergencies, carotid occlusive disease, peripheral arterial occlusive disease and arteriovenous dialysis access. He participates actively in research activity within the Division of Vascular Surgery and is a strong supporter and participant in residency training.

Dr. MacKenzie has been an Examiner for the Vascular Surgery Examination Board of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, is a former Chair of the Education Committee and Academic Program Chair for the Canadian Society for Vascular Surgery (CSVS) and he completed a term on the Strategic Board of the Society for Vascular Surgery. He currently holds an appointment as Associate Professor of Surgery at McGill University, was a prior Osler Fellow at McGill University and completed a 10-year tenure as Program Director for the McGill Vascular Surgery Residency. Dr. MacKenzie was President of the Canadian Society for Vascular Surgery in 2018-2019 and has held an Executive position with the CSVS for 7 years.

Dr. MacKenzie is the current Chief and Director of the Division of Vascular Surgery at the MUHC and McGill University.
