Wainwright Fellowships

Wainwright research grants are available for the promotion of the Civil Law, in accordance with the terms of the will of Arnold Wainwright. The notion of Civil Law is to be interpreted widely and extends to fields such as Commercial Law, Civil Procedure, Maritime Law, Private International Law and Comparative Law, provided that it encompasses the Civil Law as a major element.

2020-2021 call for candidates - now closed

According to our Policy (PDF icon Politique applicable aux Bourses de recherche Wainwright [.pdf] - in French only), potential candidates are invited to submit an application for either the Junior Fellowship or the Senior Fellowship, as appropriate. Please consult the policy for our eligibility criteria, our policies, and our required documents.

Period of residence

This call is for the 2020-2021 academic year, starting late August 2020 and finishing late April 2021. An application may be for both semesters or a single term.

Application deadlines

The Wainwright Committee will begin its consideration of nominations on Monday, March 23, 2020. The positions will remain open until filled.
