From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

39th World Cultural Council Award Ceremony: Wednesday, October 23, 2024

McGill University and the World Cultural Council (WCC) are honoured to invite you to the 39th World Cultural Council Award Ceremony which will be held at McGill University on October 23, 2024. 

On this occasion the 2024 Albert Einstein World Award of Science will be bestowed on Professor Eske Willerslev and the 2024 Leonardo da Vinci World Award of Arts will be bestowed on Cónal Creedon. The distinguished awards will be conferred upon these two eminent scholars within their respective disciplines at the ceremony.

In addition, Special Recognition diplomas will be granted to prominent McGill scholars who have made outstanding contributions to their fields of study.

2024 Beatty Lecture: Tuesday, October 22, 2024

As part of the programme, both winners will deliver the 2024 Beatty Lecture at the University on Tuesday, October 22. Established in 1952, the Beatty Lecture is McGill's most distinguished and endowed lectureship, and one of Canada's longest running lecture series.
