Aerospace Engineer (NOC 2146)
Aerospace engineers research, design and develop aerospace vehicles, aerospace systems and their components, and perform duties related to their testing, evaluation, installation, operation and maintenance. They are employed by aircraft and spacecraft manufacturers, air transport carriers, and in government and educational and research institutions.
SHORTAGE: This occupational group is expected to face labor shortage conditions over the period of 2017-2026 at the national level.
For Aerospace engineers & Other professional engineers, n.e.c., over the period 2017-2026, new job openings (arising from expansion demand and replacement demand) are expected to total 17,000, while 13,100 new job seekers (arising from school leavers, immigration and mobility) are expected to be available to fill them.
