Prof. Sarah Jordaan
Associate Professor of Department of Civil Engineering and TISED, McGill University
Sarah Jordaan is an Associate Professor of Industrial Ecology Life Cycle Assessment at the Department of Civil Engineering and the Trottier Institute for Sustainability in Engineering and Design, McGill University. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on combinations of life cycle assessment, techno economic analysis, and technology innovation to develop solutions for a more sustainable energy future.
Sagar Kancharla, Director
Energy Transition Advisory & Investments Energy, Resources & Industry WSP Canada
Sagar, an accomplished leader in the energy sector with 25+ years of experience, advises WSP on transitioning to low-carbon fuels. With a diverse background spanning strategy, finance, and regulation from Enbridge and GE, he excels in strategic decision-making and execution. His civil engineering undergrad, MBA, and Chartered Director accreditation enrich his role, and he actively contributes to community service through the Geneva Centre for Autism Board in Toronto.
Julia Levin, Associate Director
National Climate at Environmental Defence
Julia Levin is an Associate Director with the national climate team at Environmental Defence Canada, a leading environmental advocacy organistion. In her current role, she works to advance ambitious climate and energy policy. She has worked with multiple organisations in the environmental sector, including Greenpeace Canada and Oceana Canada. She holds a BSc from McGill University and a MEd from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. Julia has been campaigning on environmental and climate justice issues for over a decade.
Dr. Chris Bataille
Adjunct Research Fellow, Columbia University Centre on Global Energy Policy
Dr. Chris Bataille has been active in energy and climate policy analysis for 27 years as a researcher, energy systems and economic modeler, project manager, and managing consultant/partner. He is focussed on technology and policy pathways to net-zero GHG emissions by all sectors by 2050-‘70 to meet the Paris Agreement goals. He is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the Columbia University Centre for Global Energy Policy and an Associate Researcher at the Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI.org) in Paris. Chris was a Lead Author for the Industry Chapter of the 6th cycle of the IPCC Working Group III Assessment Report, as well as the Summary for Policy Makers and Technical Summary. He manages an ongoing global project to review technology and policy options for net-zero decarbonization of heavy industrial sectors.
