Dementia, Your Companion Guide was awarded the 2023 Prix d’Excellence Bronze Medal in the category of Best Community Outreach Initiative by the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE).

The McGill Faculty of Medicine’s Dementia Education Workshops for Family Caregivers was recognized for outstanding success in advancement at this year’s Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE) national conference in Kanata, Ontario on June 5, 2019. This initiative won the prestigious Gold Prix d’Excellence award in the category of Best Community Outreach Initiative for these ongoing multi-professional community workshops that aim to educate and empower those who are looking after a loved one afflicted with dementia.

 


On May 15, 2019, Member of Parliament for Westmount-Saint-Louis, Jennifer Maccarone, highlighted the collaboration between the McGill Faculty of Medicine and the City of Westmount at the Quebec National Assembly and recognized Mrs. Claire Webster, Dr. José A. Morais and Dr. Serge Gauther for this important initiative that seeks to educate citizens on the reality of caring for a loved one with dementia.
