Yu (Brandon) Xia

Professor Bioengineering

E-mail: brandon.xia [at] mcgill.ca

Research Areas: Computational Biology; Genomics and Bioinformatics.

Dr. Xia's research aims to construct genome-scale computer models of complex biomolecular systems (such as proteins and protein networks) with high spatial and temporal resolutions. These genome-scale models are then used to elucidate the relationship between sequence, structure, function, and evolution of biomolecular systems, to probe design principles of biological molecules and networks, to investigate systems biology mechanisms of disease, and to aid the development of therapeutic strategies. These aims are achieved through developing and using diverse computational methods ranging from theory and simulation to modeling and informatics.
