Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program

A Message from Dr. Jana Taylor, Program Director, Residency Program

Welcome to the McGill University Diagnostic Radiology Program!

Congratulations on choosing a career in Diagnostic Radiology, an exciting and dynamic profession, on the forefront of cutting edge technology to provide optimal patient care.  We are very excited you have chosen to be part of our team for the next five years.

During your time in the radiology program, you will have the opportunity to train with an international fellowship-trained team of radiologists, with diverse experience in clinical work, teaching and research.  McGill is a world-class training facility with state of the art equipment at our new Glen hospital site, as well as multiple other teaching centres.  A very high case volume allows for excellent training in all areas of Diagnostic Radiology.  Our program includes robust exposure to community radiology, a large oncology centre, a level 1 trauma centre, and a very busy transplant service just to name a few.

You will gain experience in becoming a valuable member of the health care team through participating in on call activities, multidisciplinary rounds, and regular daily consults.

During your research experience, you will have an opportunity to pursue an independent research project, present your results at our annual resident research day, and submit your results for publication.

Teaching activities are one of the highlights of the McGill program, with twice daily resident rounds, weekly academic half-days, and several world-renown visiting professors each year.  We have a very strong success rate at the Royal College exams, and many of our residents go on to obtain highly competitive fellowships across North America.

Radiology is a challenging and rewarding residency, and I look forward to working with you over the next five years to achieve your goals!
