Welcome to the Department of Surgical and Interventional Sciences at McGill

Surgical and Interventional Sciences combines excellent surgical research programs and innovation to bring cutting edge concentrations such as Surgical Innovation, Surgical Education, Global Surgery, Digital Health Innovation and Surgical Outcomes. The unique strength of our graduate programs is that it brings together world class researchers. We cherish our diversity as a source of strength making this an exciting community in which we innovate, study, engage in discussions and continue our teaching and rigorous pioneering research.

Our graduate students are attracted from a dynamic community and they are at the heart of the department’s excellence in research and education each year. Graduate study may combine advanced coursework with a research experience. We offer MS and PhD degrees reflecting the breadth of our department. For students with interests other than research but desiring advanced coursework, we also offer certificates, diplomas, and a Non-thesis option within our MS degree.

With the entire globe weathering COVID-19, we continue to take informed action to limit its spread. This website introduces you to the many ways you can learn, work, and grow in the Department of Surgical and Interventional Sciences at McGill. (4) Complete the direct deposit information on Minerva. (Important for any funds/awards that you may receive at McGill). (5) Check the Surgical and Interventional Sciences Website and your e-mail regularly. (6) Apply for Studentships (RI, McGill, FRQS, CIHR, etc.) and completion of Academic Integrity tutorial on MyCourses.
