Complexity courses

Students will enrol in a single Complexity course in each of the Fall or Winter terms.

Course 1 (Fall 2024):
AFYR 101 - Understanding Corruption: causes, consequences, and representations around the world

Students will learn about what is and what isn't corruption, explore its history, causes, and consequences (including approaches that see some positive effects of corruption!), learn about how corruption manifests itself in different parts of the world, and analyze media, cultural, and fictional representations of corruption. In doing so, students will be exposed to an array of different approaches to the study of corruption through a set of guest lecturers from different disciplines.
