Yeast population structure

Baker's yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, is widely used as a laboratory model system. We have been studying its nearest wild relatives, S. paradoxus and S. cariocanus, in order to be able to use powerful yeast biotechnology to study natural populations.
