Room 232, Frank Dawson Adams, CA

This is the third event in the Science Matters: Career Talk series, brought to you by the Faculty of Science and CaPS (Career Planning Service).

Speaker: Jeremy Clark – BSc Alum

Mr. Clark obtained his B.Sc. (Biology) from McGill University in Montreal in 1998, and spent the remainder of 1998 and 1999 taking courses at the Canadian Securities Institute in Calgary.  In late 1999, he joined the Calgary financial planning firm Waddell & Associates as an intern.

Over the next several years, Mr. Clark worked in all areas of the Waddell enterprise, including personal and corporate tax, financial planning, estate planning, investment management, and the creation and marketing of private placement investment syndicates.  In 2006, he became a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute.  In early 2007, Mr. Clark and Jennifer Hetherington purchased Waddell & Associates from the previous owner and renamed it Clark Hetherington Financial Ltd.  Since then, the firm has grown to the point where it manages close to $200 million in assets and has a large tax and financial advisory practice which serves many Canadian business leaders.

Jeremy will talk to students about how he went from a BSc in Biology to being co-owner of a successful financial management practice in Calgary in less than 10 years. Question and answer period will follow and EPS pleased to provide pizza.
