The Faculty of Education would like to congratulate the recipients the 2019–2020 David L. Montgomery Award and the 2020 Jennifer Wall Leadership Initiative!

The David L. Montgomery Award

Established in 2007 by family, friends, colleagues, and former students in memory of noted sport and exercise physiologist Dr. David L. Montgomery. Awarded by the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education to a graduate student in Sport and Exercise Physiology based on academic merit, recent conference attendance and presentations at international, national, and regional conferences, and community service in sport and exercise physiology.

The 2019–2020 David L. Montgomery Award recipient is:

Co-Supervisor: Dr. Suzanne Morin (Research Institute MUHC)
“Evaluating the functional muscle-bone unit in severe obesity with and without diabetes.”

The Jennifer Wall Leadership Initiative

Named for the former faculty member Jennifer Wall, the Jennifer Wall Initiative focuses on the uniqueness and importance of physical education, and the objectives and significance of physical education in the school curriculum.
