Jordan D. Herbison, Ph.D., Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, KPE, recently published an article in The Conversation on new initiative to get more Canadians involved in power wheelchair sports after the Paralympics.

Following the closing ceremonies of the Tokyo Paralympics, it is important to reflect on where we go from here. Within the parasport community, inclusivity and access is a real issue, especially for those athletes who don't fit the mold of how some think an athlete "should" look or move. For athletes who use power wheelchairs to compete in sport, there are limited opportunities from the Paralympics to community-based programs across Canada.
