Abstract

Increased levels of distributed energy resource penetration in distribution systems, including renewable generation, introduce several challenges that hinder safe and efficient system operation. It is generally understood that traditional protection philosophy in distribution networks requires reconsideration. This idea determines the scope of this thesis, which focuses on the above issues of distributed energy resource interconnection protection with presence of renewable energy sources.
