The McGill Civil Engineering Graduate Students Society (CEGSS) is a non-profit organization in association with the Department of Civil Engineering. Our goal is to relay graduate student issues to the Department, solve the basic graduate student problems, and provide a social environment for the students by organizing activities and promoting a sense of community within Civil Engineering. Ultimately, CEGSS works to protect your rights and to facilitate a collegial community among graduate students. All students become members of the CEGSS upon registration in the Department. We welcome any and all interest and involvement within the CEGSS, as it is your society!

Every year, a one-day conference is held at McGill University where graduate students from universities across Quebec present their ongoing progress to the Department and to their peers. In addition to the annual conference, CEGSS occasionally holds seminars on various topics which are mostly of interest to graduate students. CEGSS organizes great social events as well, including ski trips, barbecues, banquets, tea times, bowling nights, foosball tournaments and wine & cheeses. We greatly look forward to your participation in all of these events and more!
