The Faculty of Arts, McGill University, invites applications for a Faculty Lecturer position in Classical Studies to start September 1, 2008 (three year appointment, renewable). The successful candidate must be able to teach introductory courses in ancient Greek, Latin and Classical mythology. The Classics Students Association (CSA) will be holding its first annual Classics Colloquium, in collaboration with the Classics Students Association of the Université de Montréal, on Friday, 28 March, from 9:30-5:00 pm in EDUC 624.
The conference will begin with a keynote lecture from Professor Craige Champion of Syracuse University and followed by a series of panels in which students will present their research papers. The event will conclude with a wine and cheese.
All students are welcome to present their research papers. It will be a great experience and is sure to look good on a resume. In order to do so, please send a 500-700 word abstract of the paper you intend to present to classicsmontreal [at] yahoo.com by Friday, 14 March. Papers are expected to last 15 to 20 minutes.

Hirundo was named Student Publication of the Year 2007-08 by the Association of Undergraduate Students. The award acknowledges the hard work of Hirundo's editors and celebrates the excellence of its published authors.

We are delighted to announce that Bill Gladhill (Stanford University) has accepted our offer for a position in Latin Language and Literature. Bill Gladhill is a specialist on Roman epic, history and cosmology, currently finishing his PhD on 'Foedera: A Study in Roman Poetics and Society'. He will join the department in August.
