Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphics

Five thousand years ago, the Ancient Egyptians started recording their language using hieroglyphs – a system of pictograms. The language flourished for over 3000 years, till the end of the Pharaonic period in 200 AD. Egyptian hieroglyphics remained a mystery until the early 1800s, when the script and language were finally deciphered.
