McGill’s Diploma in Management: International Business Concentration Now Nationally Accredited by CIM | Chartered Managers Canada

Thanks to the strong collaboration between CIM | Chartered Managers Canada and the McGill School of Continuing Studies, graduates of McGill’s Diploma in Management: International Business Concentration will now be eligible to attain the prestigious Chartered Manager* (C.Mgr.) designation.

One of a select few programs in the world to be awarded this status, McGill’s newly revised and updated Diploma in Management: International Business Concentration is a graduate-level program designed to prepare students for positions in management, marketing, finance, and other fields in organizations that have a multinational presence. Taught by expert business and management professors and practitioners, the 30-credit program consists of 10 courses that cover the full spectrum of international business topics, including international finance, global marketing, cross-border relations and import/export rules, regulations and best practices. Students can attend on a full- or part-time basis, with evening classes tailored to fit the busy schedule of working professionals.

The dual-credential quality of the diploma will mean that graduates will automatically meet the academic requirements to obtain the Chartered Manager (C.Mgr.) designation and will thus be exempt from having to complete the CIM Management Aptitude Evaluation (MAE).

Students enrolled in this program are immediately eligible for a free Student Associate Membership with CIM | Chartered Managers Canada and can join at https://cim.ca/student.

Students who complete the diploma will also attain the CIM Chartered Management Program (CMP) Certificate when they become full CIM members.

Once their diploma is complete, to attain the C.Mgr. designation, students will be required to:

  • Have 48 months of professional-level management experience (achieved before or after graduation)
  • Submit 3 professional references
  • Join as a full member and cover all applicable fees

As Chartered Managers, graduates will be required to maintain current membership in good standing with CIM | Chartered Managers Canada, abide by the Code of Ethics, and Professional Conduct, and commit to Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

With the Diploma in Management: International Business Concentration and the Chartered Manager (C.Mgr.) designation, graduates will be prepared for opportunities in the exciting world of international business, working at home or abroad, as well as credentials that make them stand out in the marketplace, helping them make their career aspirations a reality.
