The discoveries made by Dr. Yves Clermont during his doctoral studies at McGill, which he completed in 1953, have defined our understanding of how male germ cells are organized within the complex architecture of the testis.  Since then and until his retirement, he and his numerous outstanding trainees and collaborators have consistently made remarkable contributions that have defined many aspects of male reproduction as well as the organization and functioning of the Golgi apparatus.  His outstanding skills as a teacher left indelible marks in the memory of thousands of students who had the opportunity to have him as a Professor. Dr. Clermont passed away on October 10, 2014. A biographical sketch outlining his contributions can be found here
