On April 9, 2024, iMPACTS researcher Shannon Hutcheson will be giving a presentation with the Canadian Bureau of International Education (CBIE) and Student Advising – Conseil aux étudiants (SACE) on sexual violence and international students, based on her publication in the iMPACTS special issue of Education & Law Journal

Presentation summary:

Join Student Advising – Conseil aux étudiants (SACE) for a workshop on Sexual Violence Policy and International Student Support. We will hear about the research that exists on international students ‘experience of sexual violence, how researchers are better trying to understand impacts of sexual violence on international students, and what organizations are doing to ensure that international students are protected through robust policies and targeted support materials.

About the Presenters:

Shannon Hutcheson is a PhD candidate in The Department of Integrated Studies in Education at McGill University with a focus on international education. She is an international educator and advocate with strong interest in comparative and international education, student support, and policy. 

Jade Lister is a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner working at Mount Allison University who provides support to survivors and has been instrumental in developing sexual violence policies for students and staff at their institution.
