McGill MMA - Corporate Experiential Projects

Corporate Experiential Projects

Partner with the MMA on future corporate projects

The Master of Management in Analytics's experiential corporate project is a year-long project where student teams get to work with real companies to solve pressing issues of the day using data analytics. Our corporate projects allow students to work with companies as they try to digitize and use data analytics to improve their data science practices in their organizations.

As core to the Master of Management in Analytics (MMA) program, the EXP Analytics Consulting module has MMA students working alongside industry professionals over a 10-month period solving a significant Data & Analytics problem, aimed to boost the client’s top or bottom lines. Take a look at what our MMA students have to say after working with partner Pratt & Whitney Canada.

Jack Martin, Partner, Forensic Data Analytics at KPMG Canada joins us to discuss the company's involvement with our Master of Management in Analytics experiential learning project, which places MMA students with industry partners to help students gain real-world experience that bolsters the topics taught in the classroom.

Customer Churn Predictions & Business Line Performance Trends

For mobile phone service providers, customer churn can be a major problem. Paying customers are the lifeblood of any company, and they are the only way that a telecom company like Rogers Communications be profitable. Retaining customers is a top priority in the mobile business, and learning about what is important to customers is an important step toward retaining them. Each one has a unique set of considerations, but there are patterns in mobile customers’ choices. Some leave because of unexpected expenses on their monthly bill, others because of poor coverage or customer service. To help the company understand what drives customers to actually leave, Master of Management Analytics students have used their skills to analyze customer data sets from Rogers, Canada’s largest telecommunications company.

Predictions & Supplier Performance Scorecarding

The pandemic tested medical supply chains. During its early days, there was overwhelming demand for basic supplies, and once MRNA vaccines received regulatory approval, there was an additional challenge: vaccinating tens of millions of people. McKesson stepped up to make it happen. The U.S-based health care supplies pharmaceuticals and health care supplies to hospitals and clinics in fourteen countries. The company ensured medical supply chains kept working, and were unsung heroes that enabled the unsung heroes of the health care system to do their work. Master of Management Analytics students helped McKesson do that. They applied predictive analytics to determine where deliveries are needed, and created scorecards to better understand how the company’s suppliers were performing in challenging circumstances.
