Published: 2 February 2018

Lucia De Luca, second-year student with our Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE), has published an article with the John Dewey Society’s Journal of School & Society.

The Journal of School & Society

Formed in 1935, The John Dewey Society is recognized as one of the first American organizations focused on the philosophy of education. The Journal of School & Society seeks to position itself as speaking to all those interested in the place and function of education in a democratic society including academics, public school teachers, parents, and community and labour activists.

The article, titled “Imagination in the Rational Classroom: Considering Alternatives to Capitalism,” was published by the peer-reviewed online journal in Volume 4, Issue 2 (December, 2017), and can be viewed here.

Lucia De Luca is pursuing a Bachelor of Education and majoring in Secondary English at McGill University. She is currently the Vice-President Academic of the Education Undergraduate Society (EdUS). Lucia has worked with youth and adults with special needs for over three years, most notably through the West Island Association for the Intellectually Handicapped.
