From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Transatlantic Political Economy Conference (T-PEC)

The European Bank for Reconstruction and DevelopmentHEC MontréalKing’s College LondonMcGill University, and the Centre for the Study of Democratic Citizenship are co-organizing a workshop on Political Economy.

Thisedition will be held in Montreal at the campuses of HEC Montréal and McGill University on 25-26 October 2024.

The conference will provide a platform for researchers to discuss new research and identify areas for further academic and policy-oriented work. Both theoretical and empirical contributions are welcome.

Each paper will have a dedicated discussant, followed by open-floor discussions. The event will be kept small to facilitate thorough interactions and in-depth paper deliberation. The conference features a keynote speech by Nathan Nunn (Vancouver School of Economics).

Please note :

  • The event will be held in person.
  • There is no registration fee.
  • The organizers may be able to cover accommodation costs for junior scholars.
  • An invitation-only conference dinner will be hosted on 25 October 2024.
