Dr. Daniel Fortin-Guichard received his PhD from Université Laval in 2020 in psychology, specializing in perceptual-cognitive skills in sports. Since then, he has worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (2020-2022) and the University of Toronto (2022-2024), where he specialized in talent identification research through psychological characteristics, mainly in team sports. In Amsterdam, he also developed an interest in classification research for athletes with vision impairment. From an applied perspective, he has been working with the Quebec Remparts (within the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League) as an advisor to the scouting staff. Each year, he travels Eastern Canada with the scouts to measure the players' psychological and perceptual-cognitive skills. Outside of his academic interests, Dr. Fortin-Guichard is also a high-performance coach (ultimate frisbee) and a former athlete (ultimate frisbee, volleyball, baseball). Playing complex board games and administering a Fantasy Hockey league are among his other hobbies.
