“ [...] it’s about two histories that have been ignorant of each other for a long time: those of the French- and English-language theatres of Quebec.“

Cyclorama is a theatrical experience in three acts and three places – the Centaur Theatre, a bus, and the Centre du Théâtre d’Aujourd’hui. This play dives into the history of Montreal theatre to surface the stories we tell that make us who we are.

Professor Erin Hurley has been the historical consultant for Cyclorama, and is also part of the cast. Her involvement in the project stems from her research “English-language Theatre in Quebec” (ELTQ), a SSHRC-funded research project on the history of drama and theatre in English from 1930 to 2015 using archival research, oral histories, and literary analysis as key methods. ELTQ led Prof. Hurley to collaborate with Cyclorama's creator, director, and actor Laurence Dauphinais.
