McGill Awards

Faculty of Medicine Internal Studentships

The Faculty of Medicine offers funding in the form of Internal Studentships that are tenable for one year (with the possibility of renewing twice) starting September 1. The Faculty of Medicine contribution for an MSc student is $10,000 and for a PhD student is $12,000. Supervisors are expected to supplement funded applicants with a minimum contribution of $8,000.

To be eligible for the Internal Studentship competition:

  • Students must be registered full-time in a Faculty of Medicine graduate research training program.
  • At the time of application, student must be in MSc1 for Masters level students or between PhD1 and PhD4 for Doctoral level students.
  • Successful applicants must be registered at McGill University Faculty of Medicine when applying and for the duration of the award.

Mobility Awards

The purpose of the Mobility Award is to encourage students to study abroad as part of their McGill degree program by defraying part of the cost of the study abroad experience. The award is available to all undergraduate and graduate full-time students enrolled in a degree program at McGill (Quebec, Canadian and International) who have been nominated by McGill to participate in eligible study abroad programs outside Quebec. For our Department only students registered in the Master’s of Public Health program are eligible to apply for this award.
