What is Earth and Planetary Sciences?

Earth and Planetary Sciences is a multidisciplinary field that encompasses the study of the Earth and its various components. We focus on understanding the processes that shape our planet as well as societal concerns about climate change and natural disasters.

  • Geology (the study of the Earth’s solid materials)
  • Earth System Sciences (the interactions between geology, atmosphere, oceans and humans)
  • Geophysics (the physical processes and properties of the Earth)
  • Planetary Geology (study of the formation and evolution of planets)
