Taking concrete steps towards sustainable construction

McGill’s new sustainable concrete design standard aims to shrink the large carbon footprint of one of the most widely used building materials

The Design Services team recently developed, in collaboration with firms Arup and Englobe, a new building design standard aimed at minimizing carbon emissions associated with concrete. The new standard, the first of its kind in Quebec, was integrated into McGill's building design standards in September 2023. Learn more in the McGill Reporter article.
