Construction Start: Frank Dawson Adams – Redesigns on floors 1 & 2 to welcome librarians’ offices

McGill University has mandated Les Entreprises N.R. Brosseau Inc. to carry out the following project: Frank Dawson Adams / 21-036 - Redesigns on floors 1 & 2 to welcome librarians’ offices

In continuity with the Macdonald Stewart Library Building renovation project (project 16-051), which includes new spaces for students and the reconfiguration of books and seating areas, this project will accommodate librarians’ offices and meeting rooms on the first and second floors of the Frank Dawson Adams (FDA) Building, including the addition of sprinklers and modifications to the existing mechanical/electrical installations required by the new design. The finishes are in line with the Macdonald Stewart Library Building’s new finishes.

Construction start date: Monday, November 28, 2022

Planned construction end date: Friday, March 31, 2023

Work schedule: Standard construction hours, except for noisy work or work that may cause vibrations, which must be performed before 8:00 AM or after 9:00 p.m. No work planned during exams, Dec. 7-21, 2022.

Scope of work:

Room 136 (first floor of FDA, corresponding to third floor of Macdonald Stewart Library Building) – The area will be renovated to accommodate librarians’ offices and a meeting space. A door will be added to allow entry to the space from the hallway of the Adams Building.

Room 246 (second floor of FDA, corresponding to fourth floor of Macdonald Stewart Library Building) – The room will be renovated to accommodate librarians’ offices and a meeting space. The current entry from the Macdonald Stewart Library Building will be reconfigured and a card access will be added to the existing door.
