Construction start: Arena McConnell Upgrade - Lot 2
Please be advised that McGill University has mandated DEVCOR to carry out the following project: 18-156 McConnell Arena upgrade – Lot 2
The project consists of upgrading the electrical infrastructure to enable the replacement of the ice-making system, which will allow the arena to remain open for a longer portion of the year. The project also includes the modernization of sections of the ventilation and cooling systems.
Construction start date: June 17th, 2024
Planned construction end date: August 2025
Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Any additional hours will be coordinated.

Scope of work:
- Modification of the two mechanical and electrical rooms in the basement.
- Replacement of the ice-making system.
- Concrete structural work related to the ice surface.
- Minor architectural work as required.
- Installation of HVAC system on east side of the arena to service the varsity team rooms.
- Installation of new rink boards.
Impact:
McConnell Arena will be closed during this phase of the project. Activities normally held at the arena will be relocated to Place Bell, in Laval, until the completion of the project, including during the 2024-2025 academic year.
