Faculty Club Fall Semester Newsletter 2023
The McGill Faculty Club staff would like to wish all members a warm welcome back. We hope everyone enjoyed the summer break and that each one of you is full of energy and ready to tackle a new academic year.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Professor Brendan Gillion for his two-year term as club President and also welcome the new President Professor Caroline Riches, I look forward to working with you for the next two years.

Bridge: Twice a month on Tuesdays, Maude Abbott Room, 13:15 to 16:00
Let the games begin! The McGill Committee for Retired Professors is launching its new season for bridge sessions. The popular event takes place twice a month on Tuesdays from 13:15 to 16:00. All levels are welcome. So come show off your bridge skills or pick up a trick or two.

Oyster Festival from October 23rd to the 27th, Faculty club M. Dining room
Oyster Night Thursday, October 26th, 18:30 p.m., Faculty club Ballroom
We are hosting the Oyster Festival and Oyster Night again this year. Enjoy different meals throughout the week. As for the evening buffet, get ready to crack open your oysters and enjoy delicious menu items prepared by our Chef Leonardo Berardinelli. Information will be available online in the month of October, as well as on flyers posted throughout the Faculty Club.

Brunch and Children’s Holiday Party on Sunday, December 3rd, Faculty Club Ballroom. Please arrive between 11:00 and 11:15 am.
The Faculty Club invites members and their families to its annual Children’s Holiday Party. This year, I am looking to either have the two activities in the Heritage or have a magician with it’s dog to do a show. Let’s not forget our private visit from Santa Claus and the gift-giving! Parents are asked to bring a gift, wrapped and well identified for their children, valued at no more than $20.00. Gifts may be left at the Reception Desk upon arrival for Santa to give to the children.

Annual Holiday Celebration and Buffet Luncheon on Thursday, December 14th, Faculty Club Ballroom. Noon to 2:00 pm
The McGill Faculty Club is proud to be hosting another Annual Holiday Buffet. Enjoy traditional Yuletide melodies sung by the McGill Carolers during your meal. Chef Leo and his team will work like elves to prepare a sumptuous Holiday buffet that will please your palate. Take this opportunity to enjoy some quality time with colleagues, friends and family.
