FY20 Variance Analysis

Dear Colleagues,

As outlined in the Year-End Memo and the Year-End Reporting and Communication presentation, your faculty/unit variance analysis is due on Thursday May 28, 2020 via email to ani.kotchounian [at] mcgill.ca.

Please sign into the financial services website at http://www.mcgill.ca/financialservices/reporting/yearendvariances to retrieve your reports. For a step by step comprehensive guide, please refer to “variance analysis how to document” and provide explanations for all line-items identified in red. The appendix should serve as your guide for the expected response.

Please note that although the reports can be refreshed daily, it is imperative that you refresh the reports one final time after Monday May 25, 2020 to allow for salary accruals and the overhead recovery fee to be posted. These adjusted figures should be used to comment on your variances.

Please remember that the explanations you provide are verified by our external auditors and appear in the official Financial Statement Analysis (FSA) and Board of Governors Annual Report.
