Linda Horwood, PhD

Linda is the Research Assistant for the new Centre of Excellence in Epilepsy at the Neuro. She coordinates the EEG studies of Dr. Frauscher and the ANPHY Lab, as well as the MRI studies of Dr. Boris Bernhardt and the MICA Lab. Linda recruits and schedules participants and organizes the research team to assure the smooth conduct of various studies. She very much enjoys liaising between patients with epilepsy and their amazing health care providers at the Neuro.

Dr. Horwood completed her PhD in Neuroscience at McGill University in 2019. The focus of her doctoral thesis was the evaluation of sleep, behaviour and quality of life in children with cerebral palsy. Concurrent with and prior to her PhD training, she worked as the Clinical Research Coordinator for the Pediatric Sleep Laboratory at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. In addition to epilepsy and neurodevelopmental disorders, her research interests include pediatric obstructive sleep apnea, surgical outcomes of children treated for sleep-breathing disorders, obese adolescents prescribed positive airway pressure therapy for sleep apnea, the association between sleep disorders, ethnicity and socio-economic status,
