Welcome to the Health Psychology Research Group (HPRG) at McGill University.  Our research group is led by Dr. Annett Körner, an Associate Professor of Counselling Psychology and a registered psychologist.

The HPRG focuses on research related to the psychosocial health of individuals and their families when diagnosed with a chronic and/or life-threatening medical conditions or when facing intra- and/or interpersonal adversity.  More specifically, we examine relationships between extrinsic forces (e.g., physical, social and cultural factors) that act on individuals and their intrinsic capacity (e.g., personality characteristics, interpersonal competence, coping strategies, self-compassion) to deal with life challenges.

The HPRG is situated within the Counselling Psychology Program in the faculty of Education at McGill University.
