Research assets

Before disposing of research assets, please review the Research asset management procedure.

Refrigerated units

Please submit a universal waste disposal request in myLab to have your refrigerated unit picked up. A FOAPAL is required to cover the cost of freon removal. All requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and a quote will be sent to you prior to scheduling the pick-up. For large units (e.g. -80 freezer, deli fridges, heavy lab equipment), please include the following information:

  • Size of unit
  • Pictures of the unit
  • Room number where the unit is stored
  • Confirm that the unit can be moved outside of the lab and outside of the building easily (through doors, corridors, etc.)
  • Approximate weight of the unit

Non-refrigerated units

You also need to submit a universal waste disposal request in myLab to arrange the pickup of your non-refrigerated laboratory equipment. A FOAPAL is not required for these requests. Please include the following information for large material:

  • Size of unit
  • Pictures of the unit
  • Room number where the unit is stored
  • Confirm that the unit can be moved outside of the lab and outside of the building easily (through doors, corridors, etc.)
  • Approximate weight of the unit
